Nai, you might be one of those hondurans that as long their comfy zone is not touched, they don’t care about the other who have been struggling for living a decent life in my country. You might also be one of those who don’t even bother to educate themselves about the Honduras political crisis.
I really feel sorry for you. If you really want peace and democracy in Honduras, then do something about it. you as all other Hondurans who are protesting peacefully for their country, have the right to take action and be part of the solution to this mess. I would advised you to get out of your comfy zone for once and if you really care for the poor which is more than 80% of the population then, you should join the Honduras resistance.

Zelaya was ousted by the business elite in a country historically the poorest or second poorest in the entire hemisphere. And why? Because he raised the minimum wage. The “democracy” they have, rigged by wealthy American investors and enforced by venal ruling families there is a sham. I particularly find this author’s use of the loaded term “Pink Tide” revealing. To keep the status quo in Honduras means the continuing impoverishment of the overwhelming majority of its citizenry.
The reason the coup leaders have not been stopped is because the United States is funding Honduras, and the Obama Admin. is quietly acquiescing to the coup. So much for genuine democracy. As for Hugo Chavez, see “The Revolution Will Not be Televised” before making judgements about him.

Zelaya is hardly perfect, but then again, neither have many of the presidents in Honduras. For a country that prides itself on fighting for democracy around the world, the USA (under Obama) seems pretty silent about this particular problem. Makes you wonder where the intel is coming from to stage such a coup.

none of you have a clue whatsoever about the reality in HONDURAS I was born and raised in HONDURAS and I think Hondurans are sick and tired of too much crime and corrupt goverments the president elected democratically by the people and for the people is just the right choice the elite in Honduras wich is only five por cent of the entire population are just afraid to loose so many slaves the time for the average people have come and it is right fricking now.

It was really unfortunate that a selfish/self-centered /crook ex-president of Honduras can do these to his people and the country. His ambitious agenda is really an evil one that will put the people of honduras in a very dangerous regime. I hope and pray that his family would experience blood-shed before it happens to the innocent people of honduras that way , he would feel what it is. To the people of Honduras….open your eyes and find out the truth first before doing something bad.

So, you actually mean that what Zelaya did was to raise the crime rate, make people poorer and that he was interested in his own wealth. How innacurate could a “journalist” actually be? There is no limit to that.
Also, I need to express my remorse for reactions your article trigger like “A Hit squad is what we need to get rid of these smalltime Hitlers”
Those reactions are triggered by your artivle dear “journalist”. Good job.

I can only hope, as an Obama supporter, that Administration statements amount to window-dressing and lip-service purposes to oppose military intervention in constitutional governance. In the Honduras case, It seems to me the military acted to preserve the constitution against encroachment of a Chavez-type dictator-in-the-making.
