The ex-manager of Hondutel was apprehended in accordance with an order issued by the Court of Justice in regards to the case of LatiNode/Hondutel. Chimirri was manager of Hondutel from January 1st, 2006 until December 31st, 2007.
The ex-civil servant was the director of the Honduran Company of Telecomuniaciones (Hondutel) under the government of Manuel Zelaya. Chimirri is the nephew of the former president of Honduras, Manuel Zelaya.
According to the preliminary police reports, agents of the criminal investigation arrested Chimirri in front of a bank, he did not resist arrest.
There are also orders of capture out for: Jacobo Lagos, Jorge Rosa, Danilo Santos, and the auditor, Daniel Flores.
