Honduras’ new government representatives said on Thursday it would be open to moving the time table up for the general election that normally would be held in November to calm the international parties.
Roberto Micheletti told reporters it would be possible to hold a national referendum on reinstating Zelaya, although it would be difficult to do so right away.
The OAS said it will travel to Honduras on Friday to continue peace talks. They are in a difficult position, as they do not want to negotiate directly with the new government, for fear of other nations thinking they are recognizing their authority. As such, they have been in talks with former presidents of Honduras (unnamed) and church leaders. It has not been confirmed as yet, if these contacts are acting as a go-between between the two parties.

If you allow a referendum on reinstating Zelaya Chavez, Castro and other leftist forces will finance the undermining of your democracy. Stay stong! We also face a future much like yours and pray Obama will not last in his attempt to destroy the United States.

Mr Micheletti should not back down to pressure from the World Leftist-bent leaders. Mel Zelaya must not be allowed to return to the presidency. NO TO COMMUNISM.

I do know Micheletti, I know the kind of thieft he is, also Zelaya is another one just like Micheletti, the only issue here is they do not like each other; that’s all. So the real losers on these ordeal are the Honduran people leaving in Honduras not the ones abroad.

Do not give in to the OAS…they have no right to interfere with your sovereignty….I do not know a single American who agrees with Obama and Chavez…we need you to set an example to let Obama, Chavez and Castro know they cannot run over our Constitutions. I have many Venezuelan friends that are saying they wish they had the b_ _ _ s to do what you did. Hundreds of radio talk show stations around the U.S. and the Fox News are supporting you daily…this support needs to be galvinized…Your leaders need to get on Fox News…PLEASE DO NOT GIVE IN TO TYRANNY! watchoutamerica@yahoo.com

Zelaya is a Chavez puppet. I think the Honduran people have CLEARLY stated they don’t want their country to be communist. All the world leaders should LISTEN for a change.

Don’t let Zelaya, the stepson of Chaves back. I’m a Native American Indian from US and Honduras made the right move. TOO bad other countries will not do the same. One bad apple will spoil the bunch. I send my Congrats to the new government of Honduras!!! Job well done and don’t bend……

Houston we have problem.
If a citizen of Honduras was exiled to Costa Rica that is one thing. If the sitting, un-impeached president of Honduras was exiled to Costa Rica that is another.
Can someone tell me whether citizen Zalaya was exiled or was President Zalaya exiled?
I need to know or I won’t be able to defend or support Honduras like I have been.

I think this is a fine example of a democratic country, telling their corrupt government to hit the road! Tomorrow is Independence Day in America… today it is Independence Day in Honduras!
You guys in Honduras ROCK!!!

Frank I believed they arrested the president Zelaya for failing to respect the constitution and yes it should have been done differently. I guess at that moment they were just trying to protect the country. They should have just put him in jail instead of taking him to Costa Rica.
