The Honduran government has banned the plane, due to carry ousted President Manuel Zelaya home on Sunday, from landing foreign minister Enrique Ortez told local radio.
Zelaya said Saturday he would return to Honduras accompanied by “several presidents”, although he did not specify who. His plane is anticipated to arrive between 12:00 and 1:00 in the afternoon today.
All flights of in and out of Toncontin airport have been suspended.
Cardinal Oscar Andres Rodriguez has asked ex-president Manuel Zelaya Rosales not to return to Honduras in order to avoid any bloodshed.

So how do you stop a plane from landing? I’m sure the Honduran military knows better than to shoot it. I also wonder who would be willing to fly that plane.

I am a US citizen and beleive our country is taking the wrong position on Honduras. Honduras is trying to evict corruption and everyone in the OAS is involved in some form of economical corruption and are trying to cover it up. It’s no different than the UN. Honduras has agreede to have new alections so let that take place and everything will be fine. Why push for blood shed?

Zelaya should not come back to Honduras. The constituents of Honduras are better off without him.

I am a US citizen and I believe that Zelaya and Chavez should be arrested. I left my country when i was 5 years old and i hear so many crazy things from other people, for example: A major Drugs Traffic in Olancho Juticalpa and other Cities. Something that i haven’t never hear before in my life. Please keep that in mind honduras or any other Country is better with out some like Zelaya and Chavez. Any other Person / Country that gets involve, must be getting paid by Chavez. Big Example: OAS , President of Nicaragua, Ecuador, Argentina, Salvador, and more.
We do not want Zelaya Back and Chavez shuld be Hunt Down

I do not understand why so many outsiders are getting involved with the ousting of Zelaya. I am a naturalized American with Cuban descendants and more than understand what democracy is about. The Hondurans are fighting for that, without bloodshed, so far. Zelaya, as President, has been systematically attempting to lead Honduras in a different direction and violated the Honduran Constitution. After a majority vote of the equivalent of our Congress and Senate, he was voted out. Impeachment is another word for it. Right? When Nixon was “ousted” how would we have felt if the UN and other countries’ leaders would have declared that illegal and had interefered? Yes, the argument can be made that the circumstances are different, but as I see it they are similar and way too close for comfort. Hondurans want continued democracy. The U.S. is based on that and we should embrace any country that stands for the same. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
