Mr. Reid,
I don’t know who you spoke to, or what part of Honduras you were in, but when I was there in June also (I flew out the morning this tyrant was arrested) and with people that actually know him, NONE of them wanted him to continue as President!! I know people that are from his home area and have done business with him years ago when he was just a wealthy businessman! If he were really interested in helping the poor, he would have done better by his employees way back then!! He is just power hungry and GREEDY… Did you read about all the different bank accounts he had and the bags of US dollars found at his home??? What is that about if not GREED!!!

I disagree completely. ‘True Deocracy?” Please… we all know whats going on, and the fact that US Republicans are trying to “outline” what has happened betrays a totally suspicious and Orwellian Rethinking of the events of the past few weeks. Right wingers have only brought conflict, misery and war to Central America, there is a substantial history of that reality which culminates in the Contradora Terror Project. I find it interesting that while we have more than enough footage of crisis in Iran, we have absolutely NO footage of what’s going on in Honduras. This is a tragedy, and the black out on footage from the region speaks to the western tradition of negligence and brutalty with respect to Central America. We not being fooled.

Mel Zelaya no espero que el Congreso Nacional hiciera la encuenta, No espero que el tribunal Supremo Electoral aprobara la cuarta Urna como tampoco espero que el Estado Mayor Conjunto deliberara si lo apoyaban o no. El impuso su volunta como buen catracho (terco,machista y testarudo) La otra parte no esperaron destituir a Mel Zelaya para luego darle golpe de estado, o esperar a que termine su periodo con tan solo 06 meses para acusarlo.

Lol this people are crazy. Zelaya is the worst president Honduras has had, you really think our government will risk going to war with all the latin countries if the guy wasn’t that bad? Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro, Raul Castro and Zelaya are all demented grown man and if you can’t tell then look closely on their reports they are like so weird and stupid makes me wonder how they got in power. Thank God my people kicked that guy out! Thats something Venezuela should do if you look at their government they also don’t like Chavez they just lack the power to kick him out of power because they took to long to react.

I am a Honduran.
Really?! they were given a chance to vote? No sir, this crooked president bought his votes from the less fortunate. “His people”. Zelaya wanted the opportunity to ask his people what they thought of this? Nope! sorry WRONG. This does not work for the rich and powerful. Hello, he is the rich and powerful.
Some of the less fortunate in my country would have sold their vote just to get their days wages. Others stood up to this tyrant and his politicos. And refused to have their vote bought. I can only imagine that Chavez supports Mel because he is sweating bricks at the tought that his country will stand up to him.

Thank you Mr. Oneill. Your wise comments were needed in this ridiculous chain of comentary. These people are calling Zelaya a tyrant, and it sickens me. Constitutions do change, and they should only be changed by the people who live under them. Zelaya wanted the opportunity to ask his people what they thought of this. Clearly he was going to win it, since he represents the poor, and most Hondurans fall into that category. This does not work for the rich and powerful. Zelaya needs to be put back in his rightful place: the presidency. Every Honduran person I spoke with when I was there in June told me they wanted to keep Zelaya for as long as possible.

We here in the US should learn from my third world country! The Hondurean congress stood up for the truth and they are doing something about it even though there have been threats and actions taken by some countries stating that their help to Honduras will be seized. As poor as they are, they are going forward because they don’t want to be governed by a communist party. Instead of looking the other way like we do here in the US, we should take action! Go Honduras!!!

You know, I don’t like Ignorance. Firstly JORDAN, your claim that Pres. Obama is trying to subvert the constitution of the U.S. because of the H.R. Res 5 bill introduced is entirely fallacious.

Firstly, The H.R. Res 5 bill was introduced by José Serrano on the date of January 6th 2009, this is well before at the time Barack Obama was inaugurated on Janurary 22. So in reality this bill was introduce under then President George W. Bush’s administration.

Secondly, This type of bill has been proposed time and time again by previous House and Senate members, both Republican and Democrat.

No amnesty for Zelaya….public opinion is turning against him in U.S. Radio talk shows in U.S. supporting Micheletti. They have huge audience and are not controlled by liberal media. This will be prove to be big embarrassment for Obama who has shown his colors by siding with Castros and Chavez.
