Will they ever start negociating with the fact that the “mariachi” will never be restituted as president? Zelaya is not welcome in Honduras except in general for the low lives who are being paid by Chavez. Leave the Honduran people in peace! Enough harm has been done already! Insulza, shame on you. I hope you will never get reelected to the OAS.

It will be interesting to see if an intelligent conclusion is reached or another poiltical one. Agree, Al, it’s time to leave the Hondras people alone. They can handle their situation very well when outside interference is minimal.

i am very much ashamed that our foreign minister [from canada] does not understand what kind of person zelaya is he stole about 100 million lps from honduras had it stashed in his office and safe among other things he is a thief the honduren government and the 15 member supreme court [9 judges are of zelayas party] all obeyed the constitution and voted zelaya out. …..the army was ordered to arrest him there was no coup if they had send in the police they would have called it an arrest …. that is the only diference………now zelaya/chavez propoganda machine is working over time ….. send those o a s people home a few years ago we had a prime minister here who also was….” on the take” he got voted out and he might still and up in jail we did not ask any body from honduras or any other country to help us to sort out the mes……send those o a s people home …..tell them you are independent country and not a colony any more……. you dont need there…dum advise …good luck honduras……..

The only thing that holds the golpistas together is their mutual fear of democracy and of losing many of the privileges, that they’ve taken for granted. They, and their supporters (many of whom post here) are denying reality. They can repeat a lie a million times, but it will remain a lie. They are not going to win this one. The only thing that they might win is time in jail for the chaos that they’ve created, that and maybe an award for being dimwitted and hardheaded.

This is the end of the world for the status quo. It’s time for the people to have the power. If the people vote to change the Honduran Constitution then that their right.

The people can have whatever they want, within reason.

The minimum wage needs to be raised again so that it can be a living wage, not just for some, but all Hondurans.

Those who have cried like babies because Zelaya has wisely made friends with the leaders of Cuba and Venezuela, for the benefit of the Honduran people are remarkably unconcerned about the well being of the Honduran people. I guess it’s selfishness. Maybe they have taken for granted all the cheap labor that they enjoy. Maybe they’re afraid that all that will change.
You’re damn right it is going to change.

The Honduran people are very tired of being treated like donkies.

if labor cost in honduras is so terrible low how come manufacturers from north america and europe are not flocken to honduras to take advantage of that ?? and you would have maybe 0% enemployment the facts are the last time the minimum wage was increased the enemployment increased by more than 1% your enemployment rate now is 27.8 % increase the minimum wage some more and you could soon have 30% enemployment ….. i don t have any financial interest in honduras . i dont call …you dimwitted or hardheaded …. becouse you and the other zelaya wurshippers are living proof that ignorense is …curable but…. dumnes is forever…….

Hey Marvin Zinndler!! If you havent noticed, the golpitas are winning, Mel “el burro” is slowly fading into memory.

  • 10 margy // Aug 24, 2009 at 11:26 pm

    Hey Rob,
Los golpistas estan derramando la sangre de nuestra gente. No se trata de Zelaya o del comunismo, se trata de los derechos de nuestra gente, de nuestro pueblo. Si tu no vives en honduras, no opines de cosas que no sabes

Marvin, your rethoric sounds so old and out of touch; And while I understand your frustation with the” status quo” please do not forget that there are various of such in term, in Cuba it means nobody has anything and cant complaint about either, Venezuela is starting to look very much the same, that is a type of “status quo” that I manifest myself against.
And as I also said before, if the honduras labourer wants to earn more money, maybe they have to improve upon the quality of their product so that it can compete in the market from a strong point.
Wake up Marvin, life is tough and earning a living is mostly always difficult.
How come I do not hear you (or read) commenting on how difficult it is for an enterprise to pay 14 months of salary in one year of production and also the ridiculous labor laws that wont allow a company to fire a lazy, non productive employee, or at least with it costing the company an arm and a leg.
Zelaya could not have maintained his promises, Honduras simply does not have the capital for that.

A 60 to 70 percent rate of poverty in Honduras is unacceptable. I was at walmart yesterday and noticed that their socks were made in honduras. Seven pairs for $5.00. Someone is making lots of money off of the backs of the poor. They should not be treated like donkies.

“I spent thirty-three years and four months in active service in the country’s most agile military force, the Marines. I served in all ranks from second lieutenant to major general. And during that period I spent most of my time being a high-class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism.

“I suspected I was just part of a racket at the time. Now I am sure of it. Like all members
of the military profession I never had an original thought until I left the service. My mental faculties remained in suspended animation while I obeyed the orders of the higher-ups. This is typical with everyone in the military service.

“Thus I helped make Mexico, and especially Tampico, safe for American oil interests in 1914. “I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenue in. I helped in the raping of half-a-dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street. The record of racketeering is long.

I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers and Co. in 1909-1912.

I brought light to the Dominican Republic for the sugar interests in 1916. I helped make Honduras ‘right’ for American fruit companies in 1903. In China in 1927 I helped see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested.

“During those years, I had, as the boys in the back room would say, a swell racket. I was rewarded with honors, medals, and promotion. Looking back on it, I feel that I might have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate a racket in three city districts. The Marines operated on three continents.”

—Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler (U.S. Marine Corps)

We’re one big family and we and must eliminate poverty. There is plenty for everyone’s need, but not enough for much greed. Social democracy trumps oligarchy. Call it what you will.

Marvin how old are you 130 ? maybe 140?

  • 14 andy // Aug 25, 2009 at 10:23 am

There is a big difference in Social democracy and Communism

  • 15 Marvin Zinndler // Aug 25, 2009 at 12:36 pm

Andy said: “There is a big difference in Social democracy and Communism”

Yes that is true. The reactionary right wing calls social democracy communism on a regular basis.

Transparent government that is by and for the people– is what the people want and deserve. Not oligarchy disguised as democracy.
