The police have seized about 685 kilos of cocaine that was transported in a false compartment of a heavy vehicle.
The National Police spokesman, Commissioner Orlin Cerrato, said the seizure took place in the village Terrones in the department of El Paraiso, east of the country.
The vehicle was bringing goods they are investigating whether the drug came from Costa Rica or Nicaragua.
Cerrato also said the search operation had not completed searching the vehicle, and presume that there are more hidden narcotics inside.
