Two kidnapped persons were freed from their captors in different operations that took place in two different areas of Honduras, police announced Friday.
A 12-year-old girl who was abducted Feb. 12th, was rescued in the western province of Santa Barbara, police commander Guillermo Arias said. The young girl was found in “good condition,” he said, but gave no more details about the rescue. Three men were arrested and another fatally shot by the police during the incident.
Another kidnapping victim, Luis Gonzalez, 20, was rescued in the northern province of Yoro. He had been kidnapped March 2nd on a banana plantation near the town of Olanchito, said police. The freed captive is the son of Mauro Gonzalez, president of a union representing public employees.
