7 Years for Prostituting Honduran Girls

A tearful Veronica Martinez denied forcing two Honduran sisters into the sex trade in Palm Beach County nightclubs before a judge sentenced her this morning to more than seven years in federal prison.

Speaking through an interpreter before the sentence was imposed, Martinez said she treated the women like family.

“These girls to me were like my sisters, my daughters,” she said. “I had a normal life with them. They even called me mom.”

    I keep on telling my friends that is not only those known as “The Rich Ones” that are hurting the people of Honduras.

    This is a prime example of how the least previleged ones are often hurt by the same kind of people that at one point they called their equals.

    Too many Hondurans are simply acting with total disregard to their own Humanity.
