The wake began yesterday at 8:00 pm with the gathering of friends and relatives of the well-known personality. There will be a funeral mass at St. Vincent de Paul church in San Pedro Sula at 4:00 pm  today for the Honduran journalist Anibal Barrow.   An hour later, he will be given a Christian burial in Memorial Gardens cemetery.The presidency issued a statement to the Honduran people and the international community which condemned the violent death of journalist Anibal Barrow and expressed condolences to his family, friends, and the audience that tuned in to him everyday.

“Anibal Barrow, a close friend of President Porfirio Lobo, with whom he shared many pleasant moments, today has become a victim of the violence attacking us,” says the statement.

President Lobo personally sent his condolences to the family of Anibal Barrow and stressed the commitment of the Government to investigate this case and all those on record in the country.

The entire country of Honduras is saddened by the news of this man’s senseless death.

“As a union, we are shocked by the death of our colleague, no words can describe what I feel,” said Eduardo Coto, Member of the Association of Journalists of Honduras.
