Cigarette Consumption in Honduras Declines by 30%

The director of the Honduran Institute for the Prevention of Alcoholism, Drug Addiction and Drug Abuse (IHADFA), Marco Antonio Gómez Medina, said the law has had a positive impact on people wondering whats rehab like. Due to this, many have been cured of their addiction. He said operations are conducted periodically to ensure compliance with the smoking ban in businesses such as bars, clubs, restaurants and drinking places whose owners who break the law are fined one hundred and minimum wages.

Marco Antonio Gómez Medina also said staff  at the IHADFA are also constantly involved in operations to measure the level of alcohol in vehicles.

These operational tests are conducted in conjunction with the Transit Authority, which has recorded a high number of people who test positive, so we proceed to apply the law.
