Craig Kelly Leaves Honduras

The U.S. envoy to Honduras, Craig Kelly, reiterated today support for the elections of November 29th as part of the solution “to the crisis in Honduras”.

“An important part of the solution to move forward are the Honduran elections,” said the Undersecretary of State who arrived in Tegucigalpa on Tuesday. “Nobody has the right to take from the Honduran people the right to vote and elect their leaders,” the U.S. envoy said in a press statement, after which he took no questions.

Thanks gonow, for I agree with what you post also, Mel should be out of Honduran everyday for all he is doing is calling for chaos, destruction and death.

1000Arrows, as a Honduran I am grateful for your concern in our country and the situation it finds it self in.

Now I have to sat this because it goes to show how much the modern American (mostly) has gone so much to the left that it chose to portray a story which was not the truth, and on top of that was very damaging to the people of Honduras.

The reason I write like this is simple,:

In Honduras there was no “Coup d’Etat” on the weekend of June 28/09.

Ex-President Mel Zelaya was legally ousted while trying to achieve the right to become a dictator for-life.
He was looking forward to changing the democratically “Constitution of Honduras” by means that are considered punishable by law according to that same Constitution.

Article # 239 clearly states that if while you are a member of the Executive Branch, or have been a member of such, you are not allowed to attempt to change the lenght of presidential term, which in Honduras is 4 years with no option for reelection nor to run gain.

Article # 239 clearly states that if you, under the circumstances described above, do attempt to change the lenght of term, tou are then required to renounce to the position you currently hold in the Executive and to refrain yourself from participating in polictical campaigning for a lenght of ten (10) years minimum.

Furthermore, Article # 239 clearly states that were you to fail to follow this instructions, you willbe considered a traitor to the nation and could then be removed from office by force and even possibly face the loss of your Honduran citizenship.

Mr. Mel Zelaya was made very aware of this when he started talking about running a referendum where the people of Honduras could express their desire to establish an extra ballot box at the polling stations in order to change the Constitution of Honduras in regard to the lenght that a president could stay in power as the head of state.

Mr. Zelaya chose to ignore the warnings he was given and even made jokes about how impossible it would be to stop him from getting his way.

The rest is history, he was ousted, the world leaders who have an inclination to the left were not happy simply because Zelaya was also a leftist dictator wannabe, so they made the expected noises.

What came as a surprise was the Liberties that the current American Administration took in order to attack one of the smallest and poorest countries in the world, which they did by cutting back on very needed aid money and slowing down the business trade, even going as far as declaring Honduras a place you should not go to, as it was published by on the
    American Consular Travel Advisory.

And none of this hapenned while being ignored by the current American Administration.

Mr. Obama and Ms. Hillary Clinton were made aware thru special communications, but they chose to ignore them, just as the also chose to not let envoys from the interim Government of Honduras to come and speak at the State Dpt. nor the were they allowed visas to come to the UNO.

So there you go 1000Arrows; I am very sure that if the American public was aware of what really hapenned iy would become irate.

To close, I will make you aware of one more truth that this Administration chose to keep away from you.

Honduras has been a proven and true friend of the United States of America for well over 100 years, and this has brought many anomisities against our country, so imagine what will hapen to many people of Honduras if the leftist groups in Honduras, who are a minority, very small one at that, were to suddenly have the oportunity to take revenge on the democracy loving people that have stopped them from taking over for over 55 years.

It was not ignorance that Obama & Clinton displayed, it was a choice they made knowing they were supporting very leftist bigots.

I am a bit surprised about how the U.S. has acted totally on this?? I would think that they would have investigated the situation more BEFORE they started cutting off aid and all that? First off, that money is important to Honduras and not only that, think about the lost tourist dollars because of the State Department warnings? It seems to me they jumped the gun and assumed it was a coup, this is a DIRECT HIT on Obama’s Foriegn Policy and he is responsible for this. This was a big issue during the U.S. elections, people were afraid of his lack of experience and this proves it. The way he handled this upsets me alot as an American, Honduras beleives in Democracy and they should not be penalized for trying to improve it. You are right, not only a formal apology but some extra compensation to make up for the lost tourist dollars because of Obama’s ignorance. I think that is the least the U.S could do.

Now now, Mr. gonow, we have to place blame where it goes, Mr. Kelly has been only saying what he has been told to say.

The ones blame are his bosses, Obama & Hillary and we should be grateful that they are changing their tune.

Now it is our turn to be gratious and diplomatic so Honduras can reap as much benefit from this as possible.
