of Idle Country Resources

Congressperson Eval Díaz stated that through this project, the Decree intends to initiate a process for countering public debt with additional cash flow. Díaz explained that this plan is intended to invite domestic and foreign investment, so the country is able to honor its debts for the payment of wages and salaries, payment to suppliers and contractors, and other commitments.

The parliamentarian said that another benefit of the approved Decree, is that it empowers the President of the Republic to create a Commission to explain and to confer with society.
The Secretary General of Congress, Rigoberto Chang Castillo said the exploitable natural resources of the country may include water, wind, mining operations, road development, port infrastructure, and telecommunications, among other things subject to identification, that are currently lacking in exploration, exploitation, construction, development, or operation.
Attorney Castillo confirmed that the resources obtained by the sale or concession of these resources will be used exclusively for the payment and readjustment of the existing debt to a longer term, and at a lower interest rate.
