Honduran Police Recover Stolen Motorcycles

Fifteen motorcycles are now on the premises of the DNIC, which were recovered yesterday by police authorities in an operation carried out in various garages and parking lots located throughout Tegucigalpa.

Bikes were seized from the Cerro Grande, Las Ayestas, Las Pavas, and Villafranca neighborhoods. Other stolen motorcycles were located along the highway to Olancho and in San Francisco.

The Chief of the Vehicle Theft Division of the National Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DNIC), Superintendent Nery Ordóñez, indicated that the bikes stored in these places were used to commit crimes. The seizure of these motorcycles are expected to assist with
research in an attempt to resolve cases of violations against Honduran citizens who have been the victims of assaults, detailed Ordóñez.

The operation involved coordinating both the preventive police and several units of the DNIC.
