Honduras Classifies for U-17 World Cup 2013

The new heroes of Honduras might be teenagers, but they behaved like real men this past Sunday by coming out on top against the U.S.Honduras-vs-US-2013-U-17-World-Cup

Our national U-17 team defeated the U.S. 3-1 and made a historic classification to the United Arab Emirates World Cup. More than 18 months of hard work and training showed yesterday out on the field, where the team proved themselves to all the critics who said that they couldn’t.

Christopher Alegria scored the first goal for the Honduran team at the 42 minute mark, then at 44 minutes the U.S. evened the score but not for long because Albert Elis scored another goal for the catracho team at 57 minutes, and Kevin Alvarez scored the last goal at 68 minutes.

Besides sealing their World Cup ticket, Honduras has passed to the semi-finals where Canada and Panama are, and the last spot will be decided by the game between Guatemala and Mexico today.

This is the third ticket Honduras has gotten to a U-17 World Cup, the first one being to Korea in 2007 and the second in Egypt 2009.  The competition will begin October 17th and ends the 8th of November, a time period where the whole country of Honduras will be rooting for these young heroes.
