The head of the DNIC in La Paz, Honduras, Inspector González, was described as a person very dedicated to his work. He was known by many people, and had an incomparable personality.

The news of his death was received with great surprise by his DNIC companions, because Pablo Enrique González Ríos, 37, had been seen by their families and friends only Friday afternoon. The officer was to have travelled to his hometown of Choloma to enjoy the parades that his sons were participating in, but instead met with a violent end.

Fernando Samuel Amador García, 37, is the son of a renowned teacher in the municipality of Choloma, and was killed in the same incident. Amador Garciía was a close friend of González, and accompanied him on this and other trips to Choloma. Amador was a partner in a nightclub, and currently working in a business selling spare parts.

A neighbor where the double murder occurred said that he had heard several blasts from a weapon close to three in the morning, but thought that they were firing into the air. Neighbors notified the Police of the lifeless bodies at 5:30 a.m. Technicians of the DNIC found five bullet casings at the site. Gonz&aacutelez’ Mitsubishi had apparently received some blows, which Police suspected was from a red car. Reinaldo Rubio, departmental head of the DNIC in Cortés, mentioned that González and Amador had been forced to their knees before they were shot.

Exactly one year ago, the head of the DNIC of La Lima, Cortés was also murdered. The attack on Police Inspector Walter Romero Alvarenga was allegedly perpetrated by four subjects.

The burial of González took place Sunday at The López Arellano cemetary.
