The company expects USD 28 million from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) with co-financing of USD 132 million from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Officials of the company and the Honduran government are visiting Japan as part of efforts to complete negotiations.

The project will improve the efficiency of the state’s Canaveral and Rio Lindo HPPs, increasing their generation to 126 MW.

Leonardo Deras, technical under director at ENEE, forecast that the loan contract will be signed in March.
