Of the 8.5 million inhabitants of Honduras, 215 are millionaires according to the
World Ultra Wealth Report 2012 – 2013 released last week. The report is published by the firm Wealth X, which claims to be “the global authority on ultra high net worth (UHNW) individuals and the worldwide standard for professionals working with the ultra affluent”.
Honduras ranks eleventh for countries with the largest number of millionaires, surpassed only by Guatemala in Central America. According to the Wealth-X report, in Honduras there are 215 millionaires (10 more than in 2012), whose fortunes reach 30 billion U.S. Dollars.
Last year, the UHNW report claimed there were 205 millionaires in Honduras, with a total fortune of 27 million, indicating that while the number of millionaires in the country has increased, their overall worth has not increased significantly.
