Despite losing the Central American Cup title yesterday afternoon to Costa Rica, Honduras’s direct rival in qualifying for the World Cup in Brazil, Honduran National Team coach Luis Suarez remained calm.
Suarez said his mindset was to get the title, but being unable to after losing 1 – 0 to Costa Rica, he finds the positive, and sees it as preparation for the upcoming playoff game on February 6th. “You’re always in a competition that expects you to win and fight. We tried to be protagonists and we were, we also won in rhythm. We see this as a prep match for the qualifying,” said Suarez.
For Luis Suarez, the Central American Football Union (Unión Centroamericana de Fútbol – UNCAF) competition is now history, and he asks all Hondurans to have confidence in the Honduras national team for World Cup qualifying.
