This week’s visit by U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs David Johnson highlighted right-wing President Porfirio Lobo’s determination to step up the fight against the increasingly active presence of the drug mafias.

The official also visited Guatemala, before heading on to the Honduran capital on Wednesday.
