300 Journalists Expected for Honduras vs. Mexico

Some 300 accredited media persons from Mexico are expected in Honduras for the Honduras vs Mexico Concacaf Hexagonal soccer elimination this Friday, March 22, 2013.

The press officer of the FENAFUTH (Federación Nacional Autónoma de Fútbol de Honduras – National Autonomous Federation of Football of Honduras), Edwin Banegas, confirmed that “47 journalists who are not from Televisa, TV Azteca and Telemundo requested accreditation” for the game.

Each of those three Honduras TV stations which do have the rights to transmit the game, have requested about 80 press credentials each.

Some members of the Mexican media have been preparing for the competition by following the Honduras Selection (Honduras Selección) national team around for a few days now.  Journalist Luis Enrique Alonzo is in Honduras from the Mexican station TV Azteca, and Televisa sent reporter Javier Rojas.

800-900 security personnel are scheduled to be in place for the Honduras vs Mexico soccer match at the Olympic Stadium in San Pedro Sula.
