Melon and Watermelon Crops Could Generate 1 Billion Dollars for Honduras Economy

The representative of the Regional Organization for Agricultural Health, Moses Molina, said there were good prospects for this year’s agricultural production; specifically in the eastern products, melon, watermelon, which could generate up to one billion dollars for the country’s economy.

“I feel that, overall, the country is betting on oriental vegetables in Comayagua. In that sense, it could be a good year for producers of melon and watermelon,”

said Molina.

He also noted that they were fighting against the Mediterranean fruit fly so it doesn’t affect the country’s agricultural export products.
