Miss Honduras World 2014 19 year old Maria Jose Alvarado found dead along with her sister

The two women have been missing since Thursday, after they were murdered at approximately 11:00 PM while attending a birthday party at a water park in Santa Barbara, Honduras.
Miss Honduras, Maria Jose Alvarado, had been due to compete in the upcoming Miss World contest and was scheduled to fly out to London today. As a result, Honduras will not be competing in the Miss World beauty pageant this year.
The two women’s bodies were found, near the banks of the river Aguagua, the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation Chief Leandro Osorio reported.
“We are 100% sure that it’s them,” he added.
Police confirmed that the sister’s boyfriend, Plutarco Ruíz, was formally arrested along with Plutarco’s best friend and the owner of the venue where the birthday party was held. Also arrested were the wife and daughter of the owner of the water park.
The sister’s boyfriend, Plutarco Ruiz, has confessed that he shot the sister, Sofia Trinidad, after a fierce argument about her dancing with another man that started at approximately 9:00 PM and culminated into the shooting at around 11:00 PM. Miss Honduras, Maria Jose Alvarado, according to witnesses bent over to hug her sister and began to cry and yell at the scene and he shot her in the back with a 9mm hand gun. Both ladies were then buried near a river bank. The shallow burial site under a tree near the edge of the river was discovered by a local who traveled by the location on a daily basis.
A “protected witness” had provided valuable information, the police chief added. There were approximately 18 to 20 people at the party when the crime occured most left running when the gun shots were fired. Those left behind were “obligated” by Plutarco to assist in covering up the crime. They were all threatened into cleaning up the venue gathering shovels and limestone; loading the bodies on to Plutarco’s pickup and heading out to the banks of the river Aguagua to bury the bodies. The bodies were buried in a single grave which was completed at approximately 3:00 AM.
Police continue to investigate the case to identify other accessories to the crime.
