Must See TV – ON THE RECORD – Fox News TONIGHT

10 pm Eastern time, 8 pm Honduras time their show will air an interview with our Honduran “Interim Leader.”

Exerpt…

If the Hondurans followed THEIR constitution in removing now former President Zelaya, the United States is wrong in siding with Zelaya…it is not fair to our allies if we are wrong about them and thus treating them unfairly (we already cut off aid and hurt their tourism with the travel advisory.)…the key to this issue (whether the removal was a coup or a democratic process consistent with the Honduran Constitution) is found in the Honduran Constitution…check out the translated part of the Constitution emailed to me by an American lawyer: (note, I assume the translation is correct but since I don’t speak Spanish, I am relying on the translation sent me)

Article 239 of the Honduran Constitution reads:

Article 239 — No citizen that has already served as head of the Executive Branch can be President or Vice-President.

Whoever violates this law or proposes its reform, as well as those that support such violation directly or indirectly, will immediately cease in their functions and will be unable to hold any public office for a period of 10 years.

When Zelaya was in the Precidency of Honduras, it looked like he was working only for one sector not the whole Country. You could find that he had a newspaper named “Poder Ciudadano” where he used to show all the government news, ignoring the other papers (loved by the people). When all the authorities and the other powers of the gov. called him to pay attetion to his faults and unrespect to them, he never imagined that he could be removed from office. He was acting as an automat all the time, he just wanted to follow Chavez instructions about the ilegal referendum. He used all the civil service employees to work in that project and sent them throughout the Country starting with the heads of ministeries, using the government vehicles, gasoline, money for travel and food to all of them. The Attorney General (MP, the Supreme Court, Public Ministery, Procuraduria General, TSC and TSE started to documentate all his faults and violations, when all this was ready there were no time to judge him because he said that the police would not arrest him and he continued ….he said that he was’not afraid of anybody. he used to say:…ok. do it….I will go to jail….jajajaj, he used to laugh all the time.. He looked like hipnotized. I feel sorry for his inmediate family, this things happen when the people are enjoying life daily for years, there is some day that God ask us to rend our acts. He, Zelaya. should think now on, what to do, because if he continues doing bad things or destroying the Country with the help of the International Community, GOD WILL TAKE HIM FOR EVER.

Meg have you been to Venezuela? I have more than once. I also speak to friends from there on a regular basis. It has never been worse. The crime eis higher than anywhere in our hemisphere. The poor got poorer, the rich got poorer and Chavez is spending all the money on weapons and backing candidates in other countries. He has taken almost all of there freedoms away. people have been killed and jailed for demonstrating.

  3. Esteban  September 16, 2009 at 5:29 pm

    To Meg,

You know that the elections wee scheduled and the candidates choosen before Zelaya was removed from office for violatimg the Constitution and his oath of office.

In Cuba teachers and enginers make between $8.50 and $14.00 US per month. They only live at all because their relatives in the US and around the world send them money. Girls and mothers sell their bodies to rich forigners in plush hotels while Cubans search the trash for food. You ignore that it is cocaine and oil money that fuels Chavez’s party in Venezuela. Inflation was over 30% in Venezuela last year and was running at 29% in August. Chavez dropped 3 zeros from the Bolivar last year and it just keeps sliding. When the oil money runs out there will only be cocaine left. That is why Chavez keeps threatening Columbia. He is hoping that the arms he is selling to FARC will turn the tide. If that doesn’t work he will have to step up theft from the ‘rich”. The definition of “rich” will fall as the money runs out. In Cuba the “rich” left the country or were liquidated long ago. Now Cuba starves.

When the Soviet Union went broke Cuba lost its sorce of funds. Russia did not need and could not afford a satellite anymore. Castro was so lucky to have Chavez and his oil money come along when it did. Chavez was lucky that Castro was dying so that he could posture as the champion of the left. As it is Castro only lasted as long as he did because he sent rivals into exile or the Isle of Pines. When he became a threat he even sent Che Guevara to his death in Bolivia. You know that if there was a free election in Cuba Raul would not last a day.

It doesn’t matter if you can read if you can only read propaganda. It doesn’t matter if you have healthcare if you can not breath. You have different values than the majority of Hondurans. They have learned from history. You worship an ideal that is a lie.

  4. Rob  September 16, 2009 at 5:08 pm

So meg, you dont think Chavez is an evil dictator? You ask why they keep re-electing him? Simple, electoral fraud. Dont back your opinions with empty comments and rhetorical questions. Out of all the weapons hes bought he hasnt used ANY against any other nation, except his own. Havent you even seen what hes done to the private sector? Freedom is speech is PROHIBITED in Venezuela, that’s where it starts and then ur a slave to the state, and the only person benefiting from Venezuela’s oil fields is Chavez.

Im sure you have your mind made up as to why socialism is great and perfect. Thug style governments is not the way to go, Chavez will soon find that out.

  5. Meg  September 16, 2009 at 12:15 pm

Alex Reyes, have you visit Venezuela? I do not think so!
Honduras had a democracy before Micheletti Coup. Sweetheart the whole world agree that it was a coup, thats why the present government is not reconized by any country of the world. Now who is the one who is talking nonsense. The elections are been held because Micheletti is trap in a corner by the international community. You want real talk, I can give you real talk, but I do not think, that you can handly the truth.

About Venezuela, people in Venezuela protest against Chavez. They still live normal lives except the rich who are the ones complaining. If Chavez is bad, why the Venezuelan people elected him again?
About Cuba, Cuba is the way it is because the international community turn their back on them, like now with Micheletti. I respect and admired President Fidel Castro for standing up to USA and other countries. Beside that fact, he is the only president in history that has at last many presidents of many countries including USA. President Fidel Castro and Cuba are still standing without the help of the international community, now with the help of his brother Raul Castro.
Fact: Cuba has 97 porcent literacy among its people and it has one of the best health care system in the world, after France. USA and our loving country, has more illiteracy and one of the words health care system in the world.
Cuba has send many doctors and medicines to help the Honduras community and many other countries. Cuba has give schoolarships to many people of different countries to study medicine in Cuba, including someone from the USA. If you don’t believe me, go and check for yourself. You want facts, I can give you facts, but you are not ready to handly the truth, Sweetheart.

Families murdered under Mel’s approval. Personal friends moving to another country to escape more murders. Is this democracy? Wake up USA and talk to the people, the victims of Mel’s politics are waiting for justice.

  7. Bill Edgar  September 16, 2009 at 7:46 am

Wake Up Hillary!!! Obama – shame on you!

Honduras is a small and poor country trying to do the right, follow the Honduran Constitution; why is Hillary and Obama, so stupid! Take taxi ride through the capital city or anywhere in Latin America, the people will tell you! Zelaya is no good and tried to increase the problems that Americans face with the Venezuelan, Nicaraguan, and Salvadoran presidents. Hillary what is your compelling reason to turn the face to these people and government, shame on you, you cover up for Bill when he lied to the people of USA, now you cover up for Obama.

  8. Axel Reyes  September 16, 2009 at 7:16 am

Meg, the members of the resistance?

    What world are you in?

The ones resisting the Democratic process in Honduras?

You seem to be very unhappy that Zelaya was not allowed to go thru with his plan to sell Honduras.

Just move over to Venezuela, have it all, the new (bad) economy, the restriction of the press, the lesser rights of the people, have it all, or if you want it worse, just go to Cuba.

  9. Axel Reyes  September 16, 2009 at 6:25 am

Esteban, you should clarify, are in favor or against of the fact that in Honduras Constitutional law was respected and impossed?

Do not be confused because some
New Generation Socialist in Washington, USA, are attacking the interim goverment in Honduras, they are not really criticizing those people as much as they are really just showing their true colors.

These people belong to a group of people with the same mentality than Jimmy Carter has, and you remember him right?

In case you do not, he is that guy that in 1978 cut aid to Somoza when he was fighting the Sandinistas, (do you remember what came next?) and later on he validated Chavez elections as “clean and legal”, yeah, right.

Come on people, us Hondurans find ourselves seeking the support of a country who for many years gave us advice as to how to be a democracy and to form better types of goverment badsed on ‘rightist’ ideology, now they are leving us to die on the side of the road, just because Obama does not seem to accept thte fact that he is already out from university.

  10. Johana  September 16, 2009 at 12:56 am

Other countries must just let Hondurans fix their own troubles. We don’t go somewhere else and try to mind other people’s bussiness!! Viva Honduras! I am Honduran and I feel proud of my people to stand against comunism and seek for a better country. We want Mel out!!! He never did nothing to help the country and he is just making matters worst!! Fuera Mel……..

  11. Alex  September 16, 2009 at 12:25 am

Interview was postponed. Because of local news. Will be on tomorrow night

  12. Esteban  September 16, 2009 at 12:06 am

I’m going to let Greta know of your boycott threat. I’m sure that will frighten her!! While you are at it you should boycott the Arizona Republic, New York Post and the Wall Street Journal. They have all editorialized in favor of the defense of constitutional government in Honduras.

In the meantime there are 75 days to the election. Your time is running out.

  13. Meg  September 15, 2009 at 10:16 pm

    Well said, Jose Marti!

We need to boycott Fox Stations everywhere.
To all the members of the resistance! Do not watch fox news, so the rating can go down.

  14. tony  September 15, 2009 at 8:59 pm

jose …..i think zelaya can go back any day if he wants a trial so …..if he thinks he is not guilty of the 18 charges the judges are waiting…. and i am sure he will get a very fair trial……….but mel is not showing up ………..guranteed……..

  15. Jose Marti  September 15, 2009 at 7:22 pm

There was no trial for Zelaya (this can hardly be constitutional), only a removal by the use of guns.

  16. Wm. K. Monroe  September 15, 2009 at 7:01 pm

First of all, Fox News a right wing network and opposed to almost every move made by the
present Democratic Administration inthe USA . This writer
believes Zelaya wrong by his actions to seek
a referendum but the man should have been
brought to trial and not dumped into another country, that is if Honduras can call itself
a true democracy. Unfortunately, much needed
aid will be lost when it is most needed. Both the
UN and the OAS acted appropriately and there
is still time to restore Zelaya and put his actions
    on trail before Novembers’s election.

  17. PWB  September 15, 2009 at 5:06 pm

Thank God!!!! someone with the ability to speak out…Please investigate and start the ball rolling. Its obvious ms clinton, obama, and the rest of our international (FRIENDS) don’t have half the brain god gave them, but don’t worry the honduran people are very forgiving and gracious something you all know nothing about. many apologies are in order for honduras and the honduran people. TRUTH WILL ALWAYS PREVAIL thanks again Fox

  18. Axel Reyes  September 15, 2009 at 2:57 pm

Right on the money, the translation is very close to being correct, but it misses that if the person in question fails to remove himself from office he is then to be considered a traitor and could even be removed by force.

  19. Duane  September 15, 2009 at 2:41 pm

Glad to see Greta covering this. It will probably end up on fox news too. But probably not on CNN (Chavez News Network)

  20. Free Honduras  September 15, 2009 at 12:59 pm

At least someone is giving some air time to let Honduras present the facts. It is time for NBC, CBS, ABC, and CCN to do some real investigative reporting on the issue as well and let the citizens of the world know the injustice that their countries are inflicting on the freedom loving Honduran people. Help them get rid of the Venezuelan, Nicaraguan, and Salvadoran insurgents out of their country.
