Rains Trigger Collapse of Mountainside Mine in Santa Barabara, Honduras

One person was killed Tuesday and three were trapped after heavy rains triggered the collapse of a mountainside mine in Honduras, an official said.

The victim was dragged out alive but later died of his injuries, fire chief Oscar Triminio said.

Two other people have been rescued alive from the rudimentary mine in the western department of Santa Barbara.

In July another mine collapse in the central American country left eight people dead. Their bodies were never recovered.
