They identified the site of origin of the plane as it was moving toward the airstrip last night. The team included members of the Directorate of Counter-Narcotics, naval forces, and preventative and investigative police.
A month and a half ago, another plane was identified and found there, but only after the pilot abandoned the aircraft.
The national director of the Preventive Police, Salomon Escoto Salinas, said last week in La Ceiba they would destroy clandestine airstrips identified in the region, but they have not yet accomplished this task.
This morning investigations will proceed by the competent authorities who will administer a series of searches to find those responsible.
