Winds, Heavy Rain in Northern Honduras

The weather conditions will continue in this area of the country due to an air mass that is over Honduran territory.

“The rains continue in the northern region, but so far there is no reported damage,” said the head of Copeco, Lisandro Rosales.

The low temperatures and mild to severe storms hit the northern Atlantic coast of the country yesterday. Rosales said that because of the storm, the waves in the Caribbean Sea “are above normal values.” She reported they have recorded between 50 and 60 mm of rain in some areas. In La Ceiba, it has been reported that they received up to 150 mm in 24 hours.

The National Weather Service said the weather conditions will remain the same at least until Tuesday, as the cold air mass is expected to remain over the territory.
