Banadesa and Banprovi Provide Funds

The Honduran government has made available through the National Bank for Agricultural Development (Banadesa) and the Honduran Bank for Production and Housing (Banprovi), some 100 million lempiras for national entrepreneurs, according to the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Gunther Carlos Laínez.

“Private banks do not have the right conditions for funding of micro-credit; but there are a couple of banks that have expressed an interest in wanting to support this sector. Therefore, the government has Banadesa financing 100 million lempiras,” he said.

According to the official, these funds, as well as other funds that are being placed in Banprovi, will be used to support micro, small and medium enterprises.

“The entrepreneurs can access Banprovi funds through credit unions nationwide, through the Federation of Credit Unions of Honduras (FACAH),” he said. He added that, “They can facilitate the fulfillment of the requirements, since it is evident that they have to talk about both trust and mortgage securities at different institutions.”

The fha refinance program has been more popular than ever the last few years as credit has become harder to get. FHA loans are one of the best options available for borrowers that would like to refinance their mortgage to get a better deal or to pay off debt.

With this approach, is expected to reduce the number of requirements for access to credit, especially those related to mortgage security.

He announced that in the coming days, the Honduran Congress might approve a law called “mutual guarantee” wherein the company may be able to serve as collateral for micro-entrepreneurs.
