Ficohsa to Strengthen MSMEs in Honduras

The Honduras Bank Financiera Comercial, SA (Ficohsa) has signed a contract for resources to strengthen the development of micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Honduras.

The contract (Credit Agreement) is worth U.S. $30,000,000.00 and was signed with Citibank, NA, under the guarantee of OPIC (Overseas Private Investment Corporation). OPIC is a government development agency of the United States intended to invest in new and emerging markets to encourage sustainable economic development. Occidente Bank (Banco de Occidente) is the trustee for this transaction, responsible for managing the portfolio and collateral trust.

Ficohsa Bank is one of the leading and largest banks by assets in Honduras. The bank has developed an extensive network of over 100 locations, and provides over 300 ATMs throughout the country.

Ficohsa Bank is the largest bank in Central America to receive a license to run a representative office in Miami, and an international license to operate in Panama.
