Firefighters Monday morning are still extinguishing remnants of a massive fire that overtook an outdoor market in Comayagüela, about 50 miles outside of Tegucigalpa on Saturday. “We will be here until this is over,” reported one fireman.

Thousands of cubicles were destroyed, and approximately 20,000 merchants were affected. Although the damages were several million dollars, there were no deaths, and physical injuries were minimal.

International investigators, initially in Honduras to help with the Comayagua prison fire in Honduras, arrived to help process the scene.
