Honduras Has Good Weather for Coffee Crops

Good weather here in Honduras has been boosting coffee crops, and it appears the weather will continue to be helpful to this year’s coffee yield.

Honduran growers are optimistic about the output for the 2011-12 harvest which will be starting in the coming month of October.

According to Volcafe, one of the world’s leading coffee merchants, the high output is expected to settle the global brew shortage. Honduras is estimated to produce 4.4 million bags of 60 kilograms (132 pounds) in the 2011-12 season.

Honduras is the largest coffee grower in Central America according to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) data.
