Heavy Rains and Wind in Honduras

Heavy rains and winds of up to 40 kilometers per hour caused the temporary paralyzation of Goloson airport in La Ceiba, and La Mesa, San Pedro Sula. There are slight damages in the city of San Pedro Sula and in certain points in Choloma.

In La Ceiba, 10 people were evacuated, and a green alert was issued for Atlantida, Yoro, and Cortes. The extreme weather brought about some landslides, overflowing rivers, flooding of highways, falling trees and some damage to houses in Atlantida.

The strong winds brought about surges in the sea, where waves six and seven feet high were registered yesterday. High water temporarily cut off road access between Tela and La Ceiba.

This will be the real test for the World, for it is during the hurricane season that humanitarian help becomes more than critical for Honduras.

If the United States of America current Administration keeps on having a rude and intransingent posture against Honduras simply because we rejected their Socialist choice of president for us, then the American people should be made aware of what a choice they made just a year ago.
