Honduras joins ALBA

President Manuel Zelaya has announced that our country is already a member of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Peoples of our America (ALBA), in spite of the questioning from the different sectors of society about the president’s intention of incorporating Honduras to ALBA.

“Since we are already subscribers of Petrocaribe and we have been observing members of the ALBA, on this day the political decision of the government in search of solution alternatives to the historic problems of the country is to join the Bolivarian Alternative for the Peoples of our America”

The president indicated that new opportunities are opening for the country and for the poor of our country, Central America, the Caribbean and Latin America.
He also said “Honduras acquires two compromises within the association concepts: reciprocity and the respect, which are the fundamental basis for any type of association of our country that obtains with the other countries that acquire these compromises of international rights on their own.

On July 13th, the president of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez said, “Zelaya has confirmed his intentions of joining the ALBA with Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Bolivia and the Dominican Republic”.

The Honduran president admitted in a press conference that Honduras is studying the possible benefits and types of projects they can develop with ALBA.

“Honduras has been an observing member of the ALBA for over four months now; we are affiliate members and registered in the Bolivarian initiative that Hugo Chavez has developed along with various countries and presidents from Latin America”

The news was not well received by the enterprise sector of Honduras since they consider that joining ALBA would not be positive for the country. And because of this, the question remains: Did the governor make a consensus at an internal level of the country with the different sectors and National Congress?

In the process of incorporation of an initiative in the international rights have different legal categories that have no atlas, the foreign policy of the country is lead by the Executive authority and is authorized to sign any international compromises, which later are authenticated by Congress.

The president said all the processes his government has started are for the benefit of the country and the dominant groups are also being benefited in one way or the other by overcoming poverty and the sub-development of the country.

    MR.ZELAYA NEED TO REMEMBER !!! HE IS NO THE PRESIDENT ANY MORE !!!!! SO HE CAN’T MAKE HONDURAS TO JOIN ANY GROUP, LIKE THE CHAVEZ OR THE CASTROS, HE IS NOT IN CHARGE ANY MORE
