Cesar Castillo Torres (now 38) was found guilty in Honduras of shooting Gabriel Gaborit three times with a shotgun, and eight times with a .38 caliber hand gun.

According to Honduras Police Investigation Unit’s Agent Gladys Borden, "This was a particularly brutal murder. Torres should be here in Honduras serving his sentence. He should not be a free man."

However, Cesar Castillo Torres remains free, and will be able to continue a life with his wife and children in the United Kingdom. The UK court ruled that it would be against Castillo Torres’ human rights to force him to leave the country, because Article 8 of the Human Rights Act states he has the right to a family life.

Even the UK Border Agency disagrees with the court of appeals on this one, "We are extremely disappointed with the court’s decision. We do not believe this individual needs or deserves refuge in this country. We are lodging a challenge against the decision …"
