Two from Canada, Costa Rica and Trinidad and Tobago, who are hosting the CONCACAF U-20 Championship, will join the pair in the last four, and complete the 24-team line-up for Egypt 2009, which includes continental champions Brazil, Germany, Ghana, United Arab Emirates and Tahiti.

Brek Shea and Tony Taylor scored nine-man USA’s goals to take them on to seven points from three outings, during which time they have not conceded a goal. Meanwhile, Johnny Leveron, Mario Martinez, Roger Rojas and Cristhian Altimirano were on target as the Hondurans made it five points from a possible nine.

“Even though we only needed a draw tonight, we wanted to be aggressive,” said long-serving US coach Thomas Rongen. “We did a very good job playing together and scoring the two goals. We played three tough games and put ourselves in a position to get to Egypt, which we did.”
USA’s qualification for the FIFA U-20 World Cup was their seventh in succession. However, their best performance at the competition came at Saudi Arabia 1989, when they finished fourth. Honduras have now qualified for the world U-20 finals five times.

Egypt 2009 will take place from 24 September to 16 October.
