Honduras Signs Agreements with Peru

Honduras and Peru signed a series of bilateral agreements on Wednesday during President Porfirio Lobo’s visit. The agreements involved drug prevention and control, anti-money laundering, and the sharing of documents and files as outlined in the Spanish-American Diplomatic Files Network.

Before the commemoration ceremony, Peruvian President Alan Garcia expressed his support for the Honduran government, and said, “No ideology or political interpretation can separate Peru from the people on the continent.”

President Alan Garcia, Peru’s Foreign Minister Jose Garcia Belaunde, and our Honduran counterpart Mario Canahuati all attended the commemoration ceremony.

President Lobo ended his two-day visit to Peru late yesterday, and said the trip was a success for encouraging bilateral ties.
