Hondutel to Collect Unpaid Debts

Authorities in the Honduran Telecommunications Company (HONDUTEL) have signed an agreement with a company specializing in recovering debt.

With the signing of the agreement, Romeo Vasquez Velasquez seeks to recover arrears that users have with the state telecommunications company, amounting to 500 million Lempiras. The agreement states that if a person is indebted to Hondutel over 120 days, they will, over the next three years, become part of a list indicating that they are a credit risk. The time spent on this list may increase if the customer decides not to cancel their debt with the company.

Head of Hondutel, Vasquez Velasquez, said the total public and private debt owed Hondutel is 1,300 million lempiras.
