Ibero-American Summit Ends

Ibero-American summit ended without a joint declaration on Honduras.

The presidents of Latin American countries failed to agree on the XIX Summit of Estoril in a joint statement on Honduras, whose election on Sunday and the situation dominated the discussions on Monday and Tuesday.

Given the divergent views, Portugual, who chaired the summit, issued a statement stating that “the heads of state and government believe that the return of President Josr Manuel Zelaya (…) is an essential step for the return to constitutional normality”.

The leaders also stated that they “continue actively in seeking a solution for opening a national dialogue” in Honduras.

“There are differences in the views of Governments on the immediate future” and that there “has been a discrepancy in the assessment of the elections,” said Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, at the end of this meeting in Estoril, 25 km west of Lisbon.

The summit was dedicated to “Innovation and Knowledge” and was marked by the absence of eight presidents: those from Venezuela, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Cuba and Honduras.

Maybe they should try reading the Constitution of Honduras before they declare what it says and what the rule of law in Honduras is ! ! ! ! !

So, are we to understand that because the Left can not force the non-leftists to agree with its view, they simply proclaim that their view is the one that should rule???

What a joke, how can this animals ignore the show of force that Democracy demostrated in the country of Honduras on Sunday 11/29/09?

If Zelaya was anywhere close to being the poular choice of the Honduran people those same people would have listened to and obeyed his call for abstaining from going to the ellection poll stations, instead they went in record numbers.

    As it is often said:
“There is no one blinder that that one who choses not to see”.

Please people of the world, at least from those countries where freedom of speech is still granted, go out and protest this act of unfairness against Honduras.

This people have no right to try to imposse on the people of Honduras a leader who is so openly rejected by such a large majority.

And do not choose, as the leftists do, tomignore that he actually broke the law, and then later called for violence in his own country.

It is simply not right (Human Rights Org.) to have the will of the majority of people simply ignored because it is not convenient.

And besides, if there is no consensus, how can a consentual statement be made.

Again, the leftist way of thinking is on display, they really do not care what the people think, they believe that they are so much smarter than every body else and therefore should tell them what to do without consultation.

What a shame, and they call themselves leaders.
