International Arrest Warrants Issued

The Public Ministry (MP) formalized yesterday before the Criminal Court, an accusation against the former president of Honduras, Manuel Zelaya Rosales and four former officials of his government, for offenses linked to acts of corruption.

The prosecution implies that Manuel Zelaya Rosales and former Minister of the Presidency, Enrique Flores Lanza, were direct perpetrators in the offenses of falsification of public documents, two charges of abuse of authority, and fraud.

Also accused is the former Minister of Finance, Rebeca Patricia Santos, and former Deputy Minister, Jose Antonio Borjas Massis, of being direct perpetrators of the abuse of authority, and co-authors in the illicit acts of fraud.

Finally, the Prosecutor accuses the former director of FHIS, Cesar Arnulfo Salgado, of being a direct perpetrator in the crimes of abuse of authority, use of false public documents, and another co-author on the fraud.

National and international arrest warrants were issued, with the respective immigration alerts against the five defendants, according to the prosecutor against corruption, Leonardo Orellana, who filed the charges.
