New Honduras Director to the BCIE

Tania Lobo de Quinonez, the daughter of President Porfirio Lobo Sosa, yesterday was named Director for Honduras to the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE). She will hold this position for a period of three years.

Ms. Lobo Quinonez’s career in the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) goes back eight years, and she served as Assistant to the Director for Honduras to the BCIS during Eduardo Membreno Tosta’s appointment.

She has said that the post-crisis period has been good because it has made Honduras reflect and identify new opportunities, and “The BCIE has seen the importance of our role in the region, and we are committed to putting our best efforts into moving the country forward.”

The new director plans to emphasize infrastructure projects, health and education.
