The plane suffered mechanical problems shortly after takeoff and tried to return to the Tegucigalpa airport, according to police spokesman Sergio Murillo. Instead it touched down on a nearby street and one of its wings hit a passing pickup.
«It was all quite unexpected,» Murillo said.
The aircraft flipped over and came to rest belly-up. The pilot and three Honduran passengers were hospitalized, but truck’s driver was not injured.
