Samsung is investing $300 million dollars in Honduras

Samsung, calculates that it will invest more than $295 million in 2015.

One of the global leaders in terms of technology is Samsung, The South Korean multinational firm, estimated it will invest up to $300 million dollars in various development projects in health and energy generation that will take place in Honduras.
This investment will be made in order to highlight the potential of business and the political stability of this Central American country.

Samsung will develop different projects in the areas of technology, renewable energy, social infrastructure like hospitals and schools. Also will be involved in the construction of a dam in Tegucigalpa.
“We are in the process of analysis of the different projects that can be developed in Honduras. We believe that the investment for a new dam in Tegucigalpa could amount to $200 million. Another project already in the development process and we are interested in participating is the construction of the hospital in the town of Choluteca in the amount of $35 million, also a renewable energy project in very difficult to reach areas where there is not the power”.
Chang, the regional manager of Samsung in Panama explained that the dam and the hospital, construction work will begin in early 2015.
 “These projects will help us to establish ourselves firmly in Honduras”
 Juan Carlos Sikaffy, Member of the National Board of investment (CNI), said that they are working to win the investments of the multinational in the country.
Three months ago we visited Samsung representatives around the world and spoke with the Honduras President (Hernández).
This type of investment generates confidence to other large companies interested in investing here,”said Sikaffy.
Samsung is also coordinating with international agencies and the Government of Korea, like the Bank of exports and imports of Korea (Korea Eximbank), obtaining financial resources for other social projects and investment in Honduras.
