Silver Medal for Honduras – Thanks Ana!

She’s done it again! Honduran swimmer Ana Joselina Fortín has earned Honduras another silver medal, this time, at the 16th FINA World Championships in Aquatics.

Tuesday’s 100 meter Freestyle Women’s competition in Kazan, Russia was not an easy feat. The 43 year-old swimmer competed in the 40-44 age group, and acknowledged “It has been difficult, especially not being able to train like I wanted to.”

According to the champion, “I am happy with my first 100m freestyle event at the World Championships in Kazan, Russia … I am always wanting to put Honduras among the best. When you want, you can accomplish anything.”

Events held at the Kazan 2015 World Swimming Championships include diving, high diving, swimming, synchronized swimming, water polo, and open water swimming.

Ana Joselina Fortín is one amazing role model for Honduran women. She was recently included in Forbes list of the 50 Most Influential Women in Central America.
