Tropical Storm brings rain to most of the Country

The National Meteorological Service announced that due to the presence of the 18th tropical wave in this season, associated to a low pressure system, the phenomenon has become a tropical depression.

The prognosis is that today at 11:00 a.m. in the morning it would turn from tropical depression to tropical storm and later could in to hurricane Dolly.

As a tropical depression, the natural phenomenon is moving towards the west and north-east of Honduras at 20 to 24 kilometers.

The trajectory of the tropical store would come in to the north of the Bay Islands and then enter the Yucatan Peninsula later that same day during night hours.

Due to the presence of this phenomenon, rains are expected in most of the country, especially in La Mosquitia, the western, central and south regions with an accumulation of 50 to 75 millimeters of water in 48 hours.

The SMN recommends to every emergency committee and the public in general to take precaution measures specially those living near river borders and landslide prone areas.
