Wisconsin Students Support Honduran Workers

A group of University of Wisconsin students is calling for the university to drop its contract with Nike.

Today the students are holding a protest at 4 pm due to workers’ rights violations at two of Nike’s factories in Honduras.

Chancellor Biddy Martin gave Nike four months to change its practices. This was back in November, and now students say that time is up and they’re calling on Martin to hold the company accountable.

Nike has a license to use the University’s logo on its merchandise, but most stores on campus have stopped carrying the Nike apparel.
