Zelaya Meets with Castro

President Jose Manuel Zelaya Rosales met on Wednesday with his Cuban counterpart, President Raul Castro. Zelaya was on a working visit in Cuba participating in the 11th International Encounter of Economists on Globalization and Development Problems that is underway in Havana.

During this working meeting on Wednesday afternoon, both leaders
analyzed the state of bilateral relations and expressed their common interest in strengthening existing cooperation ties.

They also spoke about the current challenges that Cuba and Honduras face amidst today’s complex world economic situation and other topics of regional and international interest.

The meeting took place in the presence of Cuban First VP Jose Ramon Machado Ventura and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla.

Also present were Honduran FM Patricia Rodas Vaca and Xiomara Hortencia Zelaya Castro, daughter of the Central American leader.
