89 Graduate from Military Academy

The Armed Forces of Honduras yesterday graduated 89 new officers specialized in naval and aviation operations.

In the ceremony led by Defense Minister Marlon Pascua and President Porfirio Lobo Sosa, the new second lieutenants were called upon to defend the sovereignty and democracy of Honduras.

The event was held at General Francisco Morazán Military Academy, and also attended by national authorities and diplomatic representatives of Honduras.

Of the 89 new officers, 51 are from the Military Academy, 17 from the Academy of Aviation, and the remaining 21 from the Naval Academy.

The Defense Minister congratulated all the graduates and asked them to serve with honor and treasure their commitment to the country. He also congratulated two foreign exchange graduates from Guatemala and Taiwan, who studied in Honduras.

The President congratulated the new officers on their efforts, and told them they were a “worthy example for the youth of Honduras … because they have chosen a career of honor and sacrifice. “
