“I think people have responded. There has been quite a strong tourism sector especially at the beaches … the amount remained almost identical to last year,” said Bendeck.

He also commented that in the departments of Intibuca, Lempira and Copan, the influx of tourists was higher than in previous years, while in Comayagua it declined by 10 percent.
