It is customary for all women to be honored on this day, which is set aside to celebrate with love and respect the many special women of Honduras.

Honduras Women’s Day was officially established in 1954, when the Honduran National Congress issued Decree No. 60 on February 8th, declaring that Día de la Mujer was to be January 25th of each year.
