LA CEIBA/ATLÁNTIDA- The Health Ministry sent a large batch of drugs to the Atlántida Regional Hospital. With this assistance, hospital authorities hope to solve a large portion of the needs of the patients from this community.

LA PAZ/LA PAZ – Some 2,300 identity cards remain unclaimed at the Municipal Civil Registry in the city of La Paz, and 1,700 more are expected to arrive in the coming days. Authorities of this institution request that those who have applied for their identity cards present themselves to claim them as soon as possible. Identity cards are required to be presented when voting in the upcoming November elections.

SAN PEDRO SULA/CORTÉS – The Executive Directorate of Revenue has raised more than 91 million lempiras from the inhabitants of the North-West from January to date, according to the Director of this institution in the North, Oscar Armando Romero.

SANTA ROSA DE COPÁN/COPÁN – The central government has not yet paid suppliers of food for the prison of Santa Rosa de Copan, so authorities are requesting donated goods to ensure that the 700 prisoners are fed. 

SIGUATEPEQUE/COMAYAGUA – Siguatepeque teachers threatened to begin a series of demonstrations in protest of the dismissal of teacher Edwin Oliva. SINUAPA/OCOTEPEQUE – Officials of the Honduran Coffee Institute in Ocotepeque remarked they will need to hire 2,500 coffee pickers to work on farms during the grain harvesting season.

VILLANUEVA/CORTÉS – For the month of October, the ombudsmen of the Municipality of Villanueva have initiated a series of activities to raise public awareness and raise funds to help women who suffer from breast cancer.
